Eric Streitberg, Chairman of the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association, has announced the appointment of David Byers as APPEA’s Chief Executive.

Mr Byers has spent most of his career in the oil and gas industry – initially with Woodside and subsequently in senior management roles in Mobil and ExxonMobil in Australia and overseas. In 2007, he was appointed Chief Executive of CEDA (Committee for Economic Development of Australia), gaining experience leading a national membership organisation and economic research and policy forum. Mr Byers is currently an executive with Airservices Australia with responsibility for corporate and international affairs.
